made sure that we cut taxes for the middle class, and in addition to that, when that occurred, what did romney do? romney said no, let detroit go bankrupt. we moved in and helped people refinance their loans. governor romney says 47% of the american people are unwilling to take responsibility of their lives. my friend said 30% are takers. these people are my mom and dad, my neighbors. they pay more tax than governor romney pays. they are elderly people who in fact are living off of social security. there are veterans who are not quote not paying taxes. i've had it up to here with this notion -- instead of signing pledges not to ask the wealthiest among us to contribute to bring back the middle class, they should be signing a pledge saying to the middle class, we're going to level the playing field. we're going to give you a fair shot again. we are going to not repeat the mistakes we made in the past by having a different set of rules for wall street and main street. making sure that we continue to hemorrhage these tax cuts for the super wealthy. they're pushing the continuation of a tax

sinking ship. december 31, it all comes crashing down. all of those bush tax cuts that expire, all of those automatic spending cuts, one was too busy smiling like he was trying to close a deal on a used chevy, and the other frantically writing notes -- i have no idea what that was about. another debate leaves me with no debate here. forget who won and lost. i think ultimately we all are worse off. welcome, everybody come i am neil cavuto. we just found out today that we have another trillion dollar deficit the fourth year running. it could've been worse. we also found out that the federal government bailout program in the wake of the 2008 financial crisiswas $24 billion. alas, that is down from $32 billion. by my count on both counts, we are still down for the count. crazy me. i want a lot of answers to all of these loony financial questions. how will we avoid this looming train looming train wreck? what we do to ease ourselves back from this financial cliff? not a word on any of this from the vice president or the guy that wants to be vice president. no mention of the great unment

a couple weeks ago and he was asked to explain governor romney's tax plan and he said, well, i don't have enough time to explain it. it's too complicated to explain it. well, he has 90 minutes tonight, so hopefully he'll have enough time to explain it. >> you read some of these reports, joe biden has been studying paul ryan's tax plan so hard, he may know it better than paul ryan. but are they right about what joe biden needs to do tonight? >> yoe biden as you said redemption in the lead, i like that word. he really has to shift the momentum of the race and make obama's people feel better. there was almost a suicidal tendency among democrats for a couple of days. it doesn't help you in the campaign. but i think there are two things biden has going for him, one, he really is a good debater. i went back and looked at stuff on the 2007/2008 debates and i wrote a column back then where biden beat all of them. and i led my column with the sentence does joe biden have to set himself on fire to get any attention. he's got the attention tonight. but the second thing he's got going for him is that
